How to Use Multiple IP Reputation Lookup Tools

A good reputation is a key component of email deliverability. Without a healthy one, emails can get trapped in spam folder purgatory or worse.

Every time you send an email, it reaches your recipients via the internet from a specific multiple IP reputation lookup. That’s why it’s so important to make sure that your IP addresses have a good reputation. Having a bad reputation can cause your emails to get blocked, prevent people from purchasing your products online, or even prevent them from accessing websites such as Netflix and Hulu.

Protecting Your Network: Conducting Multiple IP Reputation Lookups

An important part of reputation management is monitoring your IP addresses to see if they are listed on any blacklists. There are many free reputation lookup tools to do this. However, it’s important to check more than just one source as reputation can change quickly and not all of these tools will always provide the same results.

A popular tool is Cisco Talos’s Reputation Service. This tool checks the reputation of an IP address across several different sources and provides a risk score between 1 and 100, with 50 being a neutral score and 100 being the worst possible.

Another free tool is MultiRBL. This service checks more than 200 mail server blacklists for an IP address. It also provides a risk score between 1 and 100, as well as other data such as whether the IP address is currently a spam trap or if it has been used for sending Spam.
